Ann Sieg and Renegade Network Marketer
You could call Ann Sieg the “Queen” of Attraction Marketing because she was one of the first Network Marketers to use the strategies with tremendous success. Not only that, she’s taught hundreds and more likely thousands, how to apply the strategies. Back in 2007, when she published her E-book, “The Renegade Network Marketer”, Ann caused a lot of controversy in the Network Marketing industry. Finally someone was bold enough to speak out about the “old school” techniques for marketing your business, that were not working for everyone. It was time someone told the truth about what so many sponsors were teaching their downline.
In addition, different strategies were needed for people who wanted to build their business online, and Ann was among the first to come up with something called a “Funded Proposal” and hers was specific to the Network Marketing industry.
My husband John, and I started off our first Network Marketing business, with a pretty good lead conversion system – it was a sales process that gave the lead or prospect information (lots of it) and did a pretty good job at converting them to sales (or team members). To generate leads, we used to place adverts in our local or national newspaper.
In those days (the year 2000), the adverts worked great because lots of people wanted to learn how to make money using their computers. However, the newspaper listings soon got bombarded with adds that had the same website link (it just had a different number on the end) for people to visit. Of course, we could have re-directed our own domain name to that website link, but the prospect still would’ve ended up at the same duplicated website. After awhile we couldn’t advertise in the newspapers because of too much duplication with the adverts.
Search Engines Overwhelmed with Cookie Cutter Approach
That kind of duplicated “cookie cutter approach” has now overwhelmed the search engines and social communities like Facebook. Google has banned top leaders like Jonathan Budd, Ann Sieg, and many others, from advertising google’s Pay Per Click, because there were so many affiliates using the same landing pages as everyone else. Google doesn’t want their add space overwhelmed with the same cookie cutter web pages appearing. They want quality service for their customers (the people searching on google) so that customers find the information for which they are searching. If searchers keep seeing the same thing all the time (like in my newspaper example above), they will start searching elsewhere and google misses out on revenue.
Imagine if you walked down a shopping mall and all the shops were the same! How boring would that be? Would you stop shopping at that mall?
What’s the Solution to this Cookie Cutter Approach?
The solution is simple – BE yourself and create your own brand, then generate your leads using an offer unique to yourself. This is exactly what Ann Sieg did with her own E-book and all the marketing she’s done all over the internet. She’s created her own brand and recommended that her affiliates create their own brand. However, the mistake so many affiliates made was to “lead” with Ann’s books rather than creating their own brand.
It’s so much easier to copy what someone else is doing exactly, than it is to come up with your own brand.
However, copying doesn’t create long term success. It may create success initially but it doesn’t last very long. Those who do best, create something themselves.
Ann Sieg has recently started building her own team again, and is teaching people right up front, how to build their own brand. She provides step by step training, showing people exactly how they can brand themselves around their own passion. If you build your own brand when you first start your business, you’ll be way ahead. It will take a little longer to get started, but in the long run, you will build yourself a long-lasting business.
