Branding Yourself Online

Branding yourself is being talked about more and more these days. It’s a lot easier to brand yourself and your business on the internet. The best way to brand yourself is by using your own name on all the Social marketing sites and even have a website/blog with your own name.

Once people get to know you at the Social marketing sites like Twitter and FaceBook, they will go to Google to find out more about you. Once they go to google and type in your name, you want them to see that you’re active online.

So… if you’re just starting out in your business, I suggest using your name (first name and last name) at whatever sites you join.

When you’re in business on the Internet, the best way to differentiate yourself from everyone else, is just to BE yourself!

Do you think it’s best to use YOUR name as the domain name for your blog, or to use your main keywords in the domain name?

Love to hear what you think…

Regards from Julieanne

Julieanne, I agree with you…and presently use my name as my branding..but I've attached it to my company name/user name which is “It's All Success”. That works well for me in that I've been attached to that name for many years and most people know me by it along with “Deborah Tutnauer”. My upcoming online TV show will be called “It's All Success, hosted by Deborah Tutnauer”. There..I've easily incorporated both. Good discussion topic!

That’s a good idea Deborah! That way you get the best of both -brand yourself and use keywords.

I really like it when people use their real names on all the social marketing and bookmarking sites. It’s much better to be able to recognise someone wherever they go!

Great idea Deborah, and I like the way you branded yourself twice! I really like it when people use their own name for all their social marketing sites – like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, stumbleupon etc. It makes a huge difference when using your own name and a photo of yourself.

Hi Julieanne!

Thanks for sharing your article with me today…I really appreciate it.

If one really wants to personally brand themselves as a leader, ie a 'go-to' person, then using their personalname.com is the way to go.

When they establish themselves online, people will be drawn to them & the value that they provide…then the rest is only a formality.

Have a pleasant day…your tribal friend Steven Suchar :)

Hi Steven, thanks for your comment. It seems (like with most things) there are different “schools of thought” about this.
