Did you Get the Evil Eye from Squidoo?

Have you had one of those “heads up” emails from Squidoo yet? I received one last week, which says “it appears one of more of your lenses are violating our Terms of Service”

The “topic” of my lens was what violated their terms of service. The topic was “internet network marketing”, so I guess this means we’re not supposed to build lenses about that topic anymore.

There are still lots of Network marketing and MLM lenses on Squidoo, so I’m not sure how they determine which ones will be deleted.

If you have a lens on one of the “violated topics”, it might be best to leave it as is, and not edit or add to it.

This is a perfect example of what can happen on sites that you don’t own yourself, and it’s a really good reason to have a blog that’s hosted on a hosting site you pay for. It’s great to use the free sites, but make sure your “own” sites are the ones you focus on most.

I wrote an article about ideas for working from home and Squidoo didn't like that either. I think pretty much anything to do with business, making money or self-employment including Network Marketing is a bid no-no. If you're in any kind of business online I wouldn't reccommmend Squidoo as it's a waste of your time unless you want to share cupcake recipes and photos of your cats.

Well said Ange. It's a shame they don't want us anymore. And, I can understand it from their point of view as well I suppose. There's a few people who spoil it for the majority who are providing value.
