MLM Network Marketing Opportunity – Why do People Give Up?
A large percentage of network marketers give up on their dreams of having a hugely successful MLM Network Marketing Opportunity and the lifestyle that goes with it way too soon, and more often than not for all the wrong reasons. Here we will explain some of the main reasons this happens and how in most cases they can be avoided.
Lack of Money or Spend Money Unnecessarily
———————————————–
On top of the list for most failures, (yes, you guessed it ) is money, either the lack of it or the misuse of the money that has been set aside for the new business venture.
As crazy as it sounds it’s not uncommon for people to join a network marketing company without any consideration that there might be some capital required.
Let’s face it, if it was a lawn mowing round or a plumbing business you were starting, there would be no question about having capital.
It’s important to do some research on the business you are about to get involved in. If you plan on doing it online, work out what marketing tools etc you will need, your advertising budget and if you need to buy products include that cost as well, if doing it offline, calculate all the costs for doing that.
Doing the calculations will give you a good idea of your monthly running cost as well as start up cost, and will also give you a realistic picture of how much money you require from the get go.
If you are going to market on the internet by generating your own leads, it will not cost a great deal. There will be a cost for your education, a small cost for web hosting and an auto-responder, and costs for other tools you might want to use.
A few years ago, most network marketers on the internet would purchase leads (and would spend thousands of dollars on them). The cost of internet marketing nowadays is small in comparison to purchasing generic leads.
Another reason people give up network marketing relating to money is they get very excited about having their new business (which is only natural) and decide it would be best to leave their present job to concentrate solely on their new venture.
This is a BIG mistake and claims many an unsuspecting network marketer. Although this may seem to make perfect sense at the time, in reality it puts a lot of pressure on the new business owner and the business itself as, suddenly, the cash flow from the previous job has stopped. It’s takes time if you are a rookie at network marketing or the internet, and you need to take time to learn new skills and become educated. And, wouldn’t you know it, all the usual bills still show up as regular as clockwork.
The last point concerning money is to think carefully before spending any money, make sure you don’t spend cash on unnecessary things that won’t do anything to get your business moving, in other words why buy a new desk, upgrade your phone or anything else you already have if it’s working ok.
It’s much better to spend money on the things that will help you get your business off the ground, things like tools to help you market your business, and education to learn how to use all the tools.
Lack of Skills/Education and Lack of Support
————————
Another important ‘ingredient’ often missing and maybe not noticed at first because of the initial excitement of having a new business, is the lack of support from your sponsor.
This is another area with a high network marketing fatality rate, and can include the lack of crucial education, mentoring, a step by step training system and a clear, simple roadmap to success. Quite often, the sponsor wants to help but they are not clear on what to do themselves.
To prevent this from happening to you, we advise that you find some up to date education (not stuff that’s been around for years) so you can get training that works. There are a lot of training systems around now, so do your research and find one that you like. A reputable training course will give you a guarantee, so you can get your money back after a certain period of time, if it doesn’t suit you.
Having Enough People to Speak to…
——————————————
Going back 7 to 10 years, network marketers were having a lot of success buying generic leads, putting them into an auto responder, calling them, and getting a good percentage of those leads upgrading.
These days purchasing hundreds or thousands of generic leads isn’t really an option. If you start sending email to people who’ve never heard of you and have no idea who you are, the s’pam filters and internet service providers block the emails from being delivered. Not only that, people have been so bombarded with emails over the years that many messages end up the trash can.
It is far better to generate your own leads, using social marketing techniques where you can build a relationship with people (hundreds of people at the same time). When you generate your own leads, people will “opt into” your list and you will have told them what to expect from you.
In summary, these are some of the most common reasons people give up on network marketing, but don’t despair, network marketing has evolved into a more sophisticated business and has made a complete turnaround from you chasing people to join your business. Instead, they will often chase you provided you have set up your sales funnel in an appropriate way. This way of building your Network marketing business is called attraction marketing and it’s a much more fun way of promoting your MLM Network Marketing Opportunity.

In my experience helping small businesses develop their marketing strategies, when it comes to choosing advertising media, typically online is unaffordable. the nature of internet advertising makes it challenging to sell to small guys on a tight budget. And to show effectiveness at prices they can afford.
