A domain name is a unique name given to a resource or service participating in the domain name system. This name is given to a unique address on the internet. An example of a domain name is ” Microsoft.com ” where a unique address is given to the Microsoft company’s website.

The best name for you to have is one which contains your main keywords. Now, sometimes you cannot get that name, so you can add one (only one) hyphen to the name.

For example, if I decide to use the keywords ” dog nutritional business “, then I should look for a name something like DogNutritionalBusiness.com If I cannot get that name, I could try for one of these:

Dog-NutritionalBusiness.com

DogNutritional-Business.com

Or, I could add a word to the other keywords like this:

DogNutritionalBusinessBlog.com

Or, perhaps I could buy DogNutritionalBusiness.net (.net)

or DogNutritionalBusiness.org (.org)

So, as you can see, there is a choice.
