For keyword research, if you don’t want to pay for Market Samurai, then the Google Adwords tool works well for finding keywords.  This is the tool here:

The Google Adwords tool will show you how many searches are done monthly, so remember to divide the number by 30 to get the amount of daily searches.

To Find out The Number of Competing Pages in Google

Market samurai is great because it gives you the number of competing pages in Google as well as other data.  However, you can find this information by going to google   www.google.com   and type in your   keyword phrase in quotes:

For example, looking at the screenshot – if my keyword phrase were “irritable bowel syndrome treatment”,

Click to see the example screenshot

I would type that phrase into Google (within quotes) to see how many competing pages there are for that phrase.   In this case, there are 30,000 web pages with the phrase “irritable bowel syndrome treatment” on that page.   So, provided there were  around 50 to 80 searches per day on this phrase, this keyword phrase would be a good one to use.
